Harpa celebrated its 10th anniversary this year and on that occasion 10-year-old children composed a birthday song, which was also performed by a beautiful group of 10-year-olds. Despite the unusual circumstances, hundreds of memorable concerts, conferences, and other events were held in Harpa. Some of the highlights of the birthday program were 12 new light works on the glass façade by Ólafur Elíasson, a visit by Concertgebouworkest - one of the best symphony orchestras in the world- in November, Víkingur Heiðar Ólafsson´ s concerts with the inauguration of a new grand piano and Björk's long awaited concert series.

Exciting changes were made to the ground floor of the building, adding new partners and services which makes a visit to Harpa an even better experience.

Harpa is also a fun house for families and at the beginning of the new year a new interactive children's space will be opened, dedicated to music, experience and discovery.

We hope that the New Year will bring us all good fortune and look forward to welcoming you again in Harpa.
