For the third consecutive year, YOUNG NORDIC OPERA CHOIR brings together 30 young talents from across the Nordic countries to form an ambitious opera choir that creates a cross-Nordic artistic community. Supported by the A.P. Møller Foundation, this year’s choir is even stronger, with a new conductor, two original Nordic works by Maximilian Leicher and Þórunn Gréta Sigurðardóttir, and a record-high number of applicants.

The choir will embark on a spectacular tour, performing at the Nordic Song Festival in Sweden, Herning Opera Festival in Denmark, accompanied by the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra, and concluding their journey at Reykjavik Opera Days with Elja Ensemble and soprano Kristín Einarsdóttir Mäntylä. The program consists of music from Nordic operas, along with works by Verdi, Wagner and the newly commissioned pieces by Þórunn and Maximilian.

Young Nordic Opera Choir is not only an initiative for talent development but also a platform to strengthen Nordic unity through music, organised by Den Jyske Sangskole.
