Sunday Clas­sics - Franz Schubert: Die schöne Müllerin

Jóhann Kristinsson has received numerous awards for his singing. Last year, he was awarded the Icelandic Music Award as Singer of the Year in the classical music category. The highly acclaimed pianist Ammiel Bushakevitz has established himself as one of the most sought-after art song accompanists in the world. He regularly performs with many of the most renowned Lied singers of our time and now returns to Iceland to give a concert with Jóhann.

In recent years, they have given many song recitals in Iceland, including Winterreise and Schwanengesang by Schubert, to great acclaim. Now, it is time for the song cycle Die schöne Müllerin (“The Beautiful Miller Maid”) by Franz Schubert, set to poems by Wilhelm Müller.
