Venue

Hörpuhorn

On the 31st of May, Hörpuhorn will be the home of a dance-improvisation installation, curated by dancer Íris Ásmundar. She will be accompanied by instrumentalist Úlfur Þórarinsson, playing the harp, and together they will explore the relationship between music and movement, and the influence the two artforms can have on one another. The installation is a conversation between the two artists, where the improvisation is driven by the inspiration taken from each other’s artform, as well as specific emotions and concepts they have developed together whilst rehearsing. The installation is framed by the bright and beautiful space of Hörpuhorn, which will also serve as a source of inspiration for the performance.

The installation starts at 5pm, is open to all and the admission is free. The performance is around an hour and each improvisation session lasts around 10 minutes. The audience is therefore free to drop in and out throughout their performance, as they explore Harpa.

Íris graduated from Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, and has since then taken part in various dance projects, as well as dancing with the Vienna-based dance company Tanz Company Gervasi.
