Walking and Cycling

Harpa is well connected to pedestrian and cycling paths, making it easy for visitors to arrive on foot or by bike. Outside the building, there are bike racks, and cycling routes nearby link Harpa to the city’s main neighbourhoods.

Harpa has installed bike racks for public use in four locations around the building and inside the underground car park. The racks were designed in consultation with cyclists, making it easy to securely lock bicycles by fastening the frame to the rack.

One bike rack is located east of the delivery entrance, another at the south-east corner, a third on level K1 in the car park – to the right of Harpa’s main entrance – and the fourth on level K2 in the car park, also to the right of the entrance.

Access to the car park is possible via the cycle ramp located by Landsbankinn, through the car ramp, or by wheeling bicycles down the ramp on the south-east side of the building, near the flagpoles.

Electric Cars

Harpa’s underground car park is open 24 hours a day and provides 545 spaces. Of these, 13 are equipped with ON charging stations for electric cars.
