Sound Bath at Harpa
Many families have a Sunday tradition of going swimming, but now there's a chance to switch things up and take a sound bath at Harpa instead!
On Sunday, February 1st from 12:00 to 14:00, Harpa’s Family Program, in collaboration with the Dark Music Days Festival, offers an open music workshop for children and families. Participants will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in music, play with sound and tone, and create their own instruments. The workshop is open to all families, and guests are welcome to come and go as it suits them.
Þykjó will host an exciting instrument workshop where visitors can try brand new musical instruments. Vala Gestsdóttir, a musician and sound healer, will offer a sound bath with gongs and crystal bowls, which guests can both listen to and try themselves. Steinunn Eldflaug opens the door to the magical world of electronic music and introduces various devices that visitors are welcome to explore and play with.
The sound bath is for the whole family, and guests are free to come and go during the event as it suits them. Families are invited to experience, explore, and experiment with music and sound on their own terms in a safe and creative environment.
