The popular children's musical The Blue Planet is based on a book by Andri Snær Magnason with music by charming music by Kristjana Stefánsdóttir and lyrics by Bergur Þór Ingólfsson. The much loved music has now been arranged for big band and singers by Eiríkur Rafn Stefánsson who will also conduct the band. Actors Björn Stefánsson and Hjörtur Jóhann Jónsson will appear as guests along with the children's choir Akureyri Church under the direction of Sigrún Magna Þórsteinsdóttir. The Blue planet was awarded multiple prices at the Icelandic Theater awards in 2016. The concert is held in collaboration with the Childrens Cultural Festival.
