About Ýlir

Harpa’s Music Fund for Young People, later named Ýlir, was established at the end of 2010 when the SPRON Cultural Fund was dissolved and its assets distributed among a range of educational, cultural and charitable causes. A total of ISK 80 million was allocated to establish the Fund, with the aim of giving young and promising musicians opportunities to perform at Harpa.

Board of the Fund

The Board of Ýlir – Harpa’s Music Fund for Young People consists of three members. The boards of Harpa, the Iceland University of the Arts and the Iceland Symphony Orchestra each appoint one representative.
