Dýratónar (Animal Sounds) is a collection of musical instruments inspired by the songs and calls of animals. It usually lives in Hljóðhimnar (Sound Worlds) at Harpa, but on special occasions it ventures across the corridor to Vísa, a room on Harpa's ground floor.

On Culture Night, musician sóley and the design team ÞYKJÓ invite children and families to create their own melodies and rhythms inspired by the sounds of insects and songbirds. Visitors will also have the chance to go behind the scenes, discover how the mechanisms inside the instruments work, and explore the remarkable sound world of animals—both big and small.
