Fóst­bræður Male Choir | Harpa on Reyk­javík Cul­ture Night

The Fóstbræður Male Choir performs in Norðurljós on Culture Night, presenting a programme that blends timeless choral masterpieces with beloved popular songs from a wide range of musical traditions. The choir is conducted by Árni Harðarson.

Founded in the autumn of 1916, the Fóstbræður Male Choir has performed continuously ever since and is celebrating its 110th anniversary this year. Over the decades, the choir has established itself as one of Iceland's most distinguished and sought-after vocal ensembles. It has appeared at a wide variety of public ceremonies, festivals, and cultural events, commissioned and premiered numerous new works, performed many times with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, toured extensively abroad, and
released several critically acclaimed recordings.

Since Harpa first opened its doors, the choir has presented its annual spring concerts in Norðurljós. The choir's pianist is Steinunn Birna Ragnarsdóttir.
