Few people have had as much influence in the field of film music as Italian composer Ennio Morricone. He composed music for more than 400 films and television series and is considered by many to be one of the greatest film composers of all time. Much of his film music is still popular outside the silver screen, but the magic is magnified when music and film come together. Morricone was extremely versatile, able to easily handle different genres of music, and many of his best-known melodies still have a profound effect on the viewer.
At this film concert, the Iceland Symphony Orchestra plays music from many of the most famous films that master Morricone worked on. These include Once Upon a Time in America, The Untouchables, Cinema Paradiso, Once Upon a Time in the West and The Mission. Clips from the films will be shown on the big screen during the performance, making it an unforgettable moment for film buffs and music lovers alike.
The concert will be about 90 minutes long, without intermission.
