The Palestinian musician Nai Barghouti, has attracted international attention for her extraordinary musical talent and a singing voice that leaves no one untouched. Critics have praised her deeply personal and highly emotional performances, her electrifying stage presence, and her rare connection with audiences. She began performing publicly at the age of fourteen and, at just twenty, was named the brightest hope of the Dutch music scene by the prestigious Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.

At concerts with Nai Barghouti, audiences can expect an exceptionally diverse programme that brings together Arabic music gems, African and American jazz, European classical music, and Nai’s own original compositions. She has been profoundly influenced by legendary vocal divas such as the Egyptian Oum Kulthoum and the Lebanese Fayrouz, drawing deeply from their legacy. Nai Barghouti has developed a unique vocal style in which jazz and Arabic musical traditions merge; she has often spoken of the strong connections she has always felt between jazz improvisation and the musical traditions of West Asia and North Africa.

Nai Barghouti has sung and performed to sold-out halls around the world, including the London Jazz Festival, the Edinburgh International Festival, Théâtre de la Ville in Paris, the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Flagey in Brussels, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and the Kennedy Center in Washington, as well as numerous concerts in Palestine, Jordan, Turkey, Morocco, Tunisia, the United Kingdom, the United States, and beyond. In September 2025 she appeared at Wembley Stadium in London at a solidarity concert for Palestine organised by Brian Eno, and she co-composed and arranged Lullaby with composer Kieran Brunt, released in autumn 2025 in support of the people of Gaza.

At Harpa, Nai Barghouti performs with her multinational ensemble: Tony Roe on piano and keyboards, Khalil Khoury on qanun, Diego Alva on bass guitar, and Ruven Ruppik on drums and percussion. Nai herself sings and plays the flute.
