The international design conference DesignTalks will be held on May 6th 2026 in Harpa,
Reykjavík during the Icelandic design festival DesignMarch.


This year’s confirmed lineup includes the award winning Icelandic graphic designer Hjalti Karlsson
co-founder of Karlssonwilker, who combines minimalist design with storytelling and human-focused
approach to space and communication. Renowned designer, creative thought leader and two time
Grammy winner Stefan Sagmeister, who often talks about the large subjects of our lives like
happiness or beauty, how they connect to design and what that actually means to our everyday lives.
One of Scandinavia’s most prominent architects Dorte Mandrup will also be joining. Internationally
acclaimed for forming architecture that deeply engages with the context, her studio employs an
artistic, humanistic, and scientific approach to form designs that enhances the awareness and
experience of each place.

DesignTalks is the keynote event of DesignMarch and has become an important forum for inspiration
and conversation about design and architecture, current challenges and futures. Many leading
designers and architects have joined over the years, including Bjarke Ingels, Calin Klein, Snøhetta,
Jessica Walsh, Liam Young, James Merry and many local professionals. It is curated by Hlín Helga
Guðlaugsdóttir and Þura Stína Kristleifsdóttir produces the event for Iceland Design and Architecture.
