The grassroots concert series Upprásin returns this autumn, continuing to give young and promising musicians the opportunity to perform at Harpa. The first concert night of the season takes place in Kaldalón on Tuesday, 2 September at 8 PM, featuring Néfur, Laglegt and Straff.

Over the past three years, Upprásin has established itself as an essential platform for the grassroots of Icelandic music across genres. This season will feature 27 acts in total, with three artists performing on one Tuesday evening each month from September 2025 to May 2026.

Ticket prices are kept to a minimum to ensure as many as possible can attend, with admission set at just ISK 2,000. Click here to see the upcoming concerts.

Harpa presents the series in collaboration with Reykjavík Music City, Rás 2 and Landsbankinn.

Nominations

Upprásin was nominated for the Icelandic Music Awards in 2023 in the category Music Event of the Year, as well as for The Reykjavík Grapevine’s annual music awards in the “Shout Out” category, which recognises those who are considered to have improved the music scene during the year.

Testimonials

Upprásin is a fantastic initiative that offers young and emerging musicians the chance to perform under professional conditions with real sound and stage crews. Playing at Upprásin is excellent practice for high-production gigs, while also offering audiences a diverse and well-curated programme.
Spacestation

It means so much for a musician to get the opportunity to step onto Harpa’s stage, to feel the incredible support and to see how many great people are involved. Upprásin is a brilliant platform!
