Nico Mor­eaux Quar­tet - Múlinn Jazzclub

French bassist Nico, who is well known on the jazz scenes of both Paris and Reykjavík, leads a new piano-less quartet at this concert. The repertoire features new original compositions with a selection of Nico’s favorite pieces by the legendary drummer and composer Paul Motian. The absence of a piano gives the music a distinctive sense of space, placing the focus on the interplay, sonic textures, and improvisational freedom of the quartet. The result is an open and dynamic musical setting where the musicians can respond to one another and explore the music in the moment.
