His music blends jazz with influences from rock, ambient, and soul, while incorporating elements of free improvisation. The quartet plays an integral role in shaping the arrangements and developing the overall sound of the music. Hróðmar was named Newcomer of the Year at the 2021 Icelandic Music Awards, while his band was also nominated for Performer of the Year at the same awards.
