Guitarist Daniele Basini, cellist Steinunn Arnbjörg Stefánsdóttir and accordionist Jón Þorsteinn Reynisson share a common interest in folk music and modern music, and decided to form Trió Mýr together.
All of these instruments have deep roots in folk music around the world, from South America to the Balkans, from Scandinavia to the Middle East.
Arrangements of works from the time of Galilei to Stravinsky will be performed, as well as original compositions inspired by folk music but written in a modern style.
